The 2N StarGate is a high density VoIP/ISDN PRI GSM multichannel gateway (Fixed Cellular Terminal) intended for use by large organizations and call centres with a high volume of calls to mobiles.
Due to its modular design, the StarGate can scale from 2 to 30 GSM channels thereby allowing it to terminate a full ISDN E1 to GSM networks. It can carry 2 GSM channels for backup and a second PRI for pass through functionality. This makes it very straightforward to install as no dedicated PRI interface is then required on the PBX as StarGates powerful internal LCR takes care of the call routing.
The new VoIP (SIP) interface module is available as an option for organizations running an IP telephony infrastructure.
Usage Scenario:
A company has a SIP based IP PBX but doesn't have an E1 interface for connection to the PSTN. They also wish to save on call costs to GSM networks. The company installs a 2N StarGate (32 channel VoIP/PRI/GSM Gateway) with 1 PRI port and a VoIP card. The 2N StarGate GSM Gateway is connected through IP to the IP PBX, through PRI to the PSTN and through GSM modules to GSM. The IP PBX sends mixed traffic (land line and mobile) to the 2N StarGate. Thanks to the powerful LCR (Least Cost Router) all calls are routed in the cheapest possible way either to PSTN or to GSM networks. There is no requirement for an additional E1/PRI card in the PBX or an expensive router/access server.
